Australian Business Week (ABW) simulations place participants in the hot seat of running a multimillion dollar enterprise.
The challenge is to take over an established business, and make the necessary decisions to run the business within a simulated marketplace. During simulations, participants assume the key roles of the company's management.
Students must then make choices that will affect the future of their virtual business. By making decisions on such things as marketing strategies, price, product choices, staffing and by rectifying errors along the way, participants gain an understanding of risk and business strategies and develop important skills such as creativity, critical thinking, complex problem solving, communication and leadership, to name a few.
ABW is an intensive learning experience which gives students the opportunity to work with business men and women and teacher facilitators to learn about business in a fun and supportive environment. It is most definitely a worthwhile experience.
