Placement in the Year 7 Talented Academic classes at NBSC Balgowlah Boys, NBSC Cromer and NBSC Mackellar Girls Campuses is subject to the child’s eligibility to attend the school, submission of an application form and based on supporting evidence including the results achieved in the NBSC Talented Academic Placement Test.
Please Note: Students eligible to enrol at NBSC Cromer Campus will be required to sit for the Peninsula Community of Schools (PCS) external academic test. Further information is available on the NBSC Cromer Campus application form.

Selection Examination (Academic Placement Test)
Students are required to sit for a two (2) hour externally sourced test provided by Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). The test covers reading comprehension, writing and mathematics.
Test Date: Thursday 19th March 2020
Test Venue: School Hall of NBSC Campus designated as your local school.
Refer to NSW Public School Finder to confirm your designated local school.
Time of arrival: 8.45am
Test time: 9.00am - 12.00pm (including breaks)
What to bring: two black pens, HB pencils and an eraser. There is a short break between each section of the test. Students are advised to bring food and a drink.
NBSC Selection Process
Following the receipt of test results, offers will be made from your local school for placement in the Talented Academic Programs by mail mid Term 2. You will be required to accept or decline the offer by the date indicated in the letter.
Test Locations
Students are required to sit the test at their designated local school. Only registered students will be allowed to sit for the test. Please ensure your child/dependant arrives for the exam at the specified time.
If for any reason your child/dependant cannot attend at this time, please ring as soon as possible the Test Coordinator at the respective campus.
The test will be administered in the school hall at the following locations:
